how much lift and what drivetrain for 44 tsl boggers
I have a 1993 cherokee 4 door with the 4.0l engine and auto trans....currently on 5 inch lift and 35x12.5 pro comp mud terrains....I'm wondering what kind of lift I could use to stuff 44s under it with no rubbing....also what engine, trans and tc....it is my trail runner/mudder so it don't have to be nice looking, just need to know what I would need to make this happen!

you will have to cut out the rear wheel wells so you can stuff that tire and not be super high. i think it could be done with over all lift of 8 inchs. leaf spring with shackle relocation bracket to get 10 inchs, so a 8 inch lift leaf spring and the bracket will be 10. the front will need to be a custom long arm. there are calculators for designing ur own or u can go to a shop.
the body will be up high at this point so getting a set of full width axles would be smart. D44, D60, or gm 14 bolt, or a ford 9 inch for the rear and D44 for up front. atlas transfer case, would be a good idea. regearing would be a must. somewhere around 6.5 would be what u want. frame stiffeners would be a good idea before this little project too.
but really, if you have to ask you shouldnt be doing it yourself
you can't do a body lift, cherokees are unibody, meaning, the body is welded right to the frame rails

the 4.0 is a pretty stout motor. you shouldn't have any problems with it, it's all about your gearing. deep gear ratios, doubler/atlas t-case etc..

Go big or go home right lol and the reason I ask is bc I want to be unique and my jeep club don't have anything lifted this high, but still I was thinking dana 44s front and rear just don't know what gears engine or tranny

i would suggest dana 60's front and rear at the least if your going that big.
it's going to take alot of work to get all that under your rig, people with 44" tires are usually buggies, or doing comp-cuts, dove-tails and all that jazz.
i think you have alot to look into. you'll realize you'll need ALOT of money, time, experience, welding/fab skills

I agree with wheeler. with the questions your asking your not ready for a project like this. You need to do a lot of research to even figure out if this is what you want. If your looking at getting a shop to do it, it is going to be very expensive.

Dana 60s are pushing it with 44s look into some rocks. I'd push the front and rear out a good foot each and comp cut both. You'll need full hydro on the front that way but you ain't turning 44s with any stock gear box. This would be a trailer queen, don't know where you live but doubt you'd be street legal in most places. Three link front and 4 link rear with coil overs or air shocks plan on a cage because if you flop much less roll the weight will crush a cherokee. All said and done you'd prob have about 20k in a 3k jeep.
