No it's not the front half if just like the XJ and the rear is no stronger than an XJ ...the xj unirail top is part of the cabs floor and on the MJ the rear bed portion they simply box that top in b/c there is no cab floor boxing it in due to the removeable bed . In some ways by integrated design of the XJ's unirail/full cab I'd bet it stronger than an MJ . Go ahead an mic the thickness of that MJ rear "frame" .

whatever you say

Go ahead and post some pics of an MJ to illustrate the" big frame " beef as opposed to an XJ... LOL ...I assure you the MJ still has what only amounts to having the top of the unirail boxed behind the cab and a thin x cross bracing beween those rear rails and that bracing is a substitute for removing the rear cab to place a removeable bed there the XJ cab probably does a better bracing job on the XJ unirail than what they substitute for it on the MJ .
not that i support this idea of going this big but you might wanna use these leaf springs idk if they will be big enough http://www.bigoffroad.com/products-page/

I have a great idea. How bout using a d35 d30 combo for the 44s with stock gears. Oh yeah and you definately want to install a full locker in the d35 to help set a new world record in the quickest drivetrain decomposition. Seriously though I find it fascinating that some people's problems consist of how to fit 44in tires on a Cherokee. Thats what makes this forum awesome!!. Big thumbs up and hope you find the answers you need to make this happen. I love Cherokeeforum.com.

there is a reason no one does it... you can't get through the damn trails... dana 44 are NOT going to cut it... engine and tranny will be fine... gears will need to match the tires

Why don't you ask this guy.... he's only running 40s but on 2.5 or so inches of lift. This article might give everyone an idea of what it takes to build a responsible xj on really big tires. http://www.jpmagazine.com/featuredve..._xj/index.html
