So I'm about to build a cowl intake and I dont want to use the factory airbox. I want to get a dual battery setup and put it in that spot. I want to build it similar to the THOR one but I dont want pipes crossing the valve cover and going all around the engine bay. I want to put it into the driver side cowl. If I use a holesaw and make a hole in the cowl, how deep does it go before it hits the firewall? I want to put a cone filter inside there to clean up the look. I have slight OCD when it comes to stuff like this so I want a clean look without a inline air filter. That's the same reason I just re-wired my entire jeep just so it looks nicer. Anways has anybody done a similar setup and is there enough space for a cone filter?

When I changed out the wiper motor I was amazed at the amount of room in there.
If I ever get rid of the windshield I thought about utilizing that space for the Hi Lift.

I've sprayed a good amount of water into my engine over the years with no obvious issues other than clean valves, ...and that one time when I destroyed a TPS.
