Hi y'all, I put these vents on my jeep about 8 months ago and I thought some other people might like them. They are vents for a boat with an inboard motor I got off of Amazon for about 20 bucks. We took the hood off, flipped it over and figured out the placement based off of the hood structure. As long as you can fit them in between the supports on the underside of the hood you'll be fine. I did them angled because that was the look I liked. We measured, made our cuts with an angle grinder and then riveted these on. They came with pre-drilled holes. I imagine you could find different styles and colors for your application and they were really easy to put on. They actually keep rain out decently and do a really good job of keeping things cool. With an electric fan on a switch and these even with my black hood I can easily keep it between 180 and 210 even in 100°+ South Carolina days. And in the winter they work as a great defrost by directing the warm air to the windshield. 😂 Hope y'all enjoy and maybe this will help someone.
Check out Paulkeenans mechanical/ auto open and close vents. I got a set from him and I am looking forward to getting them on this spring!!! I dont really need the cooling effect during the Colorado winters.
I haven't seen him on here in a few months, but maybe he is up for making some more if he has the time and gets enough of a backing... I'd send him a PM and see what he is up to if you're interested.
