Default Hood Vents

I'm shopping online for hood vents to put on my '01 XJ. At this time I'm settling toward Napier's vents.

Do any of you guys have experience with how the ABS holds up over time? I live near Charleston, SC and a lot of UV comes out way over the course of a year.

Thanks.

I have the same vents on my 99 Cherokee. If I get 2 to 3 years. I will be happy.

Paint them with uv resistant paint.

I second the hyline vents. I got a set of their universal ones off craigslist and put them as far back and to the outside as the reinforcement bars would let me. Never had any issues with rain or snow.

I got these from Gary. I like the look and the price was good.

Or just a few washers in the hinges on the hood will do wonders for less than a buck.

I've had the napiers for about 2 years now they are still nice and glossy black. I live in a desert so sun beats out rigs hard. I'm happy with them

hyline aluminum look the best. but mighty pricey. glad i skipped the napier. they would have worked, i just like these more. and you get a free hyline shirt after writing a review and sending pictures.

Fred is suggesting a hood spacer/riser. Easy enough to do and definitely the cheapest option.

Those look great! I have been looking for a pair of those for a while now. Too bad Gary isn’t active on the forum. Any chance you’d be willing to part with those hood vents if the price is right?

I have seen the same vents on e-bay once. It was quite a while ago but you might do a search. I'll do one and if I find them I'll link it to you.
