As I've said before on this thread, the finished quality of the product doesn't seem to be in question. It doesn't doesn't seem to be in question whether the product is worth a considerable wait, as most seem to agree that it is.
However...
Whether the wait is short or long, the problem revolves around the complete lack of communication about the wait. I not so subtly suggested before in this thread that one of the things I've learned in my years in business is that it is absolutely critical to set realistic expectations with your customers, and communicate regularly.
If the wait is a month and I know that... Fine.
If the wait is six months and I know that... Fine.
So long as some kind of expectation is communicated to me by whom I'm doing business with, I can deal with that. What is REALLY difficult for any customer to deal with is being completely in the dark. Especially when this isn't a measly $20 item, but something that people plunked down a couple bills or better on.
When there is no expectation set by the business, or one is somewhat inferred by the experiences of other customers and it turns out to be substantially different than that, you have a problem.
I don't think it is asking that much that he pop on here for 5 minutes and just say, "Hey guys, I know you've been waiting awhile. At this point it looks like I have about 'X' sets in backlog, and it looks like these are going out roughly 'X' weeks after initial order at this point. Thanks for your patience."
It's not like we're going to rip him a new one for being honest, and at least giving us something we can plan around. But I do feel that keeping us all in the dark is not a healthy business practice. The world is filled with failed outfits that lost sales or went out of business not from inferior products, but from inferior customer relations experiences. And to disappoint folks in a forum as large and connected as this could be financial suicide. I'm not saying he's a bad guy at all, I'm sure he's great and great at what he makes. But not communicating with your customers, especially those that have willingly jumped in as first adopters on a new product from your company... Well, that's just not a smart move. Here's hoping we hear something, anything, soon.

For the good of the community, is OP's name Kristopher Douglas Froehlich? If so, there is a fellow with that name that has had 20 court cases against him (hes listed as defendant in all) in the Washington State court system... maybe not the same person, but Yakima is listed as a court and a hometown on Kris' facebook page. I'd imagine that's not a common name.

Crap happens and heck, all 20 of those cases could be tickets or something (that's a lot of times to go to court as a defendant, sheesh), but buyers beware.

Anyone buying anything should research the product and the seller. That's a given. I've read tons of reviews of Kris' customers, he's got a bunch of products I'd love to have. I haven't bought anything from the guy, but reading his reviews tells me that yes his turn around time is not fantastic, but his products perform well.
He's got like one or two guys working on his entire product line iirc. As you can see, a lot of people want these. So he's probably a little swamped, especially after the holiday season.
Cut the dude some slack.
Also, there are 3 different Kris Froehlich's in those archives

Before posting, maybe you should think, "how would I feel about someone writing this same thing about me, true or not".
Sorry for the rant, I'll go back to bed.

I'll undercut ya; I'll sell mine right now for $400 shipped!
