In the rear, the fender is spot welded to another piece that becomes part of your wheel well. If you cut too far the two pieces will separate.

How clean does it end up looking? I'm worried its going to look all cut up with paint chipped and scratched. I've never actually seen a finished product of this in person, only pictures, so I don't really know what to expect.

It looks cleaner if you do the cut and fold method for the rear ..... For the front if you get door edging it looks real clean

it's not clean at all if you look underneath or look at it from a low angle. my paint chipped a little. just be careful. as stated before, put tape over it to avoid chipping
but from standing position it looks really good. I'm happy with the way mine came out (page 3)
just keep in mind that you're cutting it to have more room for your tires, not to look pretty on the pavement

Yeah, mines already pretty scratched so I wasn't worried about chipping paint. I might recommend pulling the tire off just to give yourself the most room to work. Only prob was when getting to the back side of panel, closest to door, my tire was a lil in the way but I still managed just fine.

From a distance it doesn't look any different. Cant really tell its different at all! But thats ok cause you can always do more, but you can't undo!!

But yes, tape off the cut line and be ready to add some molding and or paint, bedliner, etc....
