Default Heat Sheath?

Anyone with the "Misfire after Hot Soak" issue tried this stuff?? http://www.designengineering.com/cat...nized-sleeving. I'm thinking about getting enough to do all the injectors and the fuel rail. If so, what sizes/lengths? Pics? Get good results? Thanks!

Noone knows anything about this stuff? Alright, I guess I'll be a pioneer. Gonna place an order with them. I hope it works. Sick and tired of waiting on the misfire to clear up every time I restart my Jeep. Stupid catalytic converters directly beneath the intake...

Looks just like the stuff we had to put on the fuel lines of 74 260z for vapor lock back in the day.

Did it work? Or do you have any idea if my application is reasonable?

It's common stuff. Every situation is different. It worked on the Zs. You'll find that kind of stuff on all sorts of cars at the Pick a Part places.

How is the heat soak issue going for you? I finally decided to try to do something about it on my Cherokee. I have wrapped the fuel rail and injectors with Thermo-Sleeve and slipped a 1inch by 3feet Thermo-Sleeve over the fuel line from the upper connection to down past the catalytic converters. I've also wrapped short sections of the exhaust manifold up by the intake manifold.
No testing yet, but I'll keep posting.

Nice XJ! My heat soak issue has been giving me fits for quite some time. First I attacked the cooling system to make sure it was operating properly. Which it is. Last summer I installed spacers between the hood and hinges to lift it about 3/4". That helped a little. The temps seem to stay a little lower. Nothing has cured it yet. My next step will be the Heat Sheath. Haven't ordered it yet. Need to figure out the diameters and lengths to get. If that doesn't cure it, I'm moving on to a fan timer to run the elec. fan after the jeep is turned off. The heat soak is worst when I've been putting a load on it like pulling a trailer. When you've got yours tested, definitely post up and let us know how it goes.

I've already wired my AC fan to a solenoid and switch. The switch is mounted in my center console ash tray. It still comes on with the AC and when the AC is off, I can turn it on and off with the switch.
A twenty five foot roll of header wrap would be more than enough to wrap your injectors, fuel rail, exhaust manifold, and fuel line. The easy way to do the fuel line that goes from the fuel rail down past the catalytic converters is to use the 1 inch by 3 feet stuff that I mentioned before. You have to buy a special tool to disconnect the fuel line up by the fuel rail so you can slip the insulation sleeve over the fuel line. Tool about $8.
