So my task this weekend is to cut the bottom of the hinges off and weld a half bolt up top and a full one down bottom

Good luck buddy. Make sure you mark where the hinges are on the
Door before removing the torx. oh and don't weld the pins until the are on the door. Habe a friend lift up on the door and weld the pins solid to the hinges

I'm thinking about leaving the hinges on the door and using small grinding wheels to make the cuts. That way I don't have to deal with bolt getting stuck/stripped/broken

I welded my pins in my hinges while they were still attached to the door and while having the door standing against a wall (as close to the same angle as if it were on the Jeep), and mine seemed to come out pretty even (minor adjustment needed).

If using 5/16" bolts to weld in for pins, it's better to use a 4" or 4.5" long one for the bottom, as after it's cut to length and ground to a point on the end (to help slip in on the Jeep) it won't have any threads but will be a smooth shank..

I also finally got around to wiring my passenger door with a Grand Cherokee wiring harness.. took a lot of splices, but should hopefully be worth it and be nice having the interior all together again!

My jeeps my DD and my power mirrors don't work. So I have literally two wires to mess with and there on male/female connectors and add maybe two seconds to the job of removing the doors.

Hey guys, I may have missed this and someone may have already commented on it, but do the original pins HAVE to be cut out or can they be knocked out with a punch and hammer? Mine is a `99 and I haven't really looked in to this yet but I like the idea. Thanks.
