I would get either 4:56 or 4:88 and a c8.25 29 spline upgrade

might as well get a NICE locker while you are at it

the tubes are longer since they are for full width trucks not jeeps. 8.8 is the best axle you can get that is close to jeep width AFAIK

80s model front 60s have very little tube on the driver side and you have to grind a good bit off the housing or move your mounts about 3" higher than stock. If you run coilovers it's not an issue but coils and shocks cause problems. 78-79 are the best years but are rare and very expensive. Do some reasearch and look at the axles before you buy. Most were leaf sprung so they didn't need much tube because the mount was cast into the housing. 99 and up models have a metric bolt patten and the ones with link mounts have them cast in and you have to use that set up.

If you plan on staying with 35's I would just swap an 8.8 in the rear and throw some chromolys in the Dana 30. That would be the easiest and a LOT cheaper then full widths or one tons. 4:88 gears and some lockers you will be good to go

I'm always amazed at how many people recommend D60's for no other reason that their size.

Anything smaller than a 37" tire simply doesn't need a D60. It's a massive axle with a tremedous unsprung weight. Think about how that weight affects your rigs performance.

A properly built Dana30 can provide years of faithfull service.

A D44 is a great upgrade if you must.

Stronger material then stock shafts, strength increase anywhere from 10% to 25% depending what is used.

Its not EVEN that simple. Do some research about them, I can't even begin to list all the mods needed to swap in a 60. Not to mention you will need a rear axle to go along with it. 37's are not wise if you don't have the money to invest drivetrain wise.

Don't waste your time with the dodge 60s. They have unit bearings that aren't the strongest, some are CAD and they are low pinion.
As far as tube lengths they varied over the years. 78-79 are the widest but others will do as well.
