Default gear pattern

Is this a useable pattern? If not please give a suggestion.
Backlash is at 006".

Nope. Pinion is way too deep.

It's a C8.25" with 4.88's & a lunchbox. I pulled the pinion back a little bit, and ran it with .006" backlash again.

Suggestions?

Run another pattern.

Wrap a rag around the yoke and twist it a couple times to keep tension on the pinion.

Took me probably 70 or so tries and different combinations to get that pattern in my 8.8

Ok, I brought the pinion in .001" and opened the backlash to .008"

How's this...

Drive side looks good and centered between toe and heel, but I would say your pinion is a bit too shallow as the pattern is a bit towards the crest of the tooth

Thanks for the feedback, I'll run it a little deeper and see how it looks.

No problem man, may want to try to get that coast side a little closer to the middle too. It's a little closer to the toe edge than the middle
