Default Fuel pump trap door?

I was reading another forum, and I saw this idea mentioned. Has anyone ever made a fuel pump trap door or hatch? Seems like it would make replacing the fuel pump SO much easier, especially in a pinch such as a road trip.

How often do you have to change fuel pumps? Ive had 2 XJ's over 220K and 1 at 180K and never had to change a pump. Just dont run the tank till empty and it wont fail

i did it. made some cuts and sealed it back up with a new sheet of metal, some rtv and small self tapping screws.

came in handy on a couple occasions.
