I have seen pictures of that before. Almost positive that is factory. While I am trying to keep my Jeep Jeep and installing a bunch of factory options she did not come with that is one option that I don't want. But that is me. Plus that is for a look more then it is for protection IMO. Which is what I am shooting for, mine just being a DD, but I like the aftermarket ones with the guards in front of the headlights. This is what I picked up awhile back and am hoping to get on the Jeep someday.

Yeah the only thing I don’t like about it is the fact that it wouldn’t hold well if I actually needed it being attached to a stock bumper. But I have seen people beef up the stock bumper from the inside...
I say go for it if you like it...... anythings better than nothing ..... I bet if you cleaned it up put some fresh paint on it ....it would look pretty good
That is for looks, not for function. If you smack anything with any force off road, it will fold up into the header panel. We will call it a 'damage multiplier'.

Absolutely. But I like it lol and that’s saying something because I really don’t like anything that doesn’t serve a purpose.
I’ve been seeing a resurgence in people being interested in stuff like that. I’ve been involved in some recent threads about and am myself on the lookout for a factory push bar/grill guard. I have never been crazy about the full brush guards because I always figured they would interfere with the headlight output. And of course right after I was in a conversation about them I started seeing some blonde girl driving around in a Cherokee with one on it.
That one one with the built in fogs was a dealer option I’m pretty sure. I kinda like that one too. I’m also well aware that these things are mainly for looks and what I always believed they were intended for were for driving through heavy brush and the like. I know different people refer to them as different things but they were always called brush or grill guards where I’m from. My dream equipment would be the grill guard, taillight guards and a tire carrier. All 3 being the Mopar versions of course.

Came on '96 and down XJ's. People have put them on '97 and up with a little fabrication. I might try myself. Picked up one for $100 literally 5 minutes from home off Craigslist awhile back. I don't have every piece but pretty sure I have the important stuff. Not sure if I want to use it but had to buy it just in case.
Does anyone have any pics of minimal modifications to the front bumper? I just lifted my '97 XJ with a 3" rough country kit, and upgraded to 31" BF Goodrich All-terrain T/A K02 tires but they were rubbing like hell on my bumper caps. I removed the caps for now but I'd like to keep the Jeep as stock looking as possible. I'd also like to keep the rubber "shroud"/cover in the wheel well. Thoughts? Suggestions?

A guy I know gave me bumpers off his son's 99' Wrangler for free. I knew it was going to be a custom job so I went to my local steel manufacturer and they custom ordered me two bumper brackets.
I got them primed (two coats was enough) today, and a guy I know well is sandblasting them and I will pick them up in the morning..

I'm painting the bumpers satin black. It was like going through Hell trying to figure up the measurements, but in the end I'm getting what I want which could've potentially been $800-1000 for a pair of bumpers.
