Is there an actual "advantage" to a chopped grill and stubby bumper like this:


or is it just for looks (it certainly looks cool)?

Makes it easier on approach (and departure) without the bumper in the way.

Clearance. Keeps the tires from rubbing when you turn the wheel. The larger the tire, the tighter the fit.

Disadvantage is the marker and headlight has no protection
