Front Bumper and Rear Bumper questions
Planning on making a front bumper and a rear bumper but have a couple of questions and would be o so thankful if you could answer them!
1. Wheres the best place to buy steel from, by best I mean cheapest
2. We are designing it on a cad and are cutting it out with waterjet, do you have any specs on how wide a front or back bumper should be, or how far apart the mounts should be?
3. And how much do you think enough steel to build a front bumper like this would cost http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/...egory_Code=XJB
THANKS

for steel i would just go to your local steel mill and for the specs probly the easiest thing to do is call jcr they have a DIY front bumper you might be able to have them give you all the specs for it or the crusader one that you like. heres the link to the DIY bumper http://www.jcroffroad.com/Merchant2/...egory_Code=XJB

Easiest way I know to get spects would be to just take measurements on the truck itself.Or just make it whatever size you think looks best. From the pics it appears to be the same width as the lower fender edges. As far as the placment of mounting brackets I would bolt them to the frame first, position the bumber exactly where you want it then tack them together.
