Front axle help
Well it's come down to this, either replace half the stuff on the front axle (Dana 30) or just replace it with an upgrade or swap in another dana. My problem is that my ball joints have worn out the holes they go into an my shop said they can try an press an oversized ball joint in, but there not sure it will work so Im trying to figure out what the best thing to do. Replace entire axle or hope the over sized thing work.

don't waste the money trying something that has a greater chance of not working.
front d30's are cheap and plentiful. and will probably have good ball joints in it.
just get one with the correct ratio.

Exactly which holes are worn out? The holes in the knuckles or the holes in the Inner C's that the B/J's are pressed into.
If it's the knuckles...replace them with some JY knuckles.
If your mechanic is telling you it's the holes in the Inner C's....find a new mechanic.

He says the upper ball joint holes on both sides, on the steering knuckles. I've had to replace the ball joints every year we have had the jeep to.
