Welcome to the site.
There are no such cables to adjust for a longer gear ratio. It doesnt work that way
There are a ton of ways to get more power but the ones that make the biggest difference are far from free.

Weight loss is really the only "free" performance upgrade unless people just give you parts or if you already have tools/equipment to, like others said, port a head.
Strip your interior, remove your HVAC and AC system, lose weight yourself, etc.
Or, you could trade your Jeep for an actual performance vehicle...
What do you want to do with this thing?

There are plenty of performance options for the 4.0L but they all cost something. The 4.0 equipped XJ has been used for a mail carrier, police use, daily driver, grocery getter, circuit track racing, autocross racing, off roading, mall crawling and the list goes on and on.
How much extra power are you looking for, what are you willing to pay and what year do ya have?

[QUOTE=Brandon Dailey;3606360]free diy performance upgrades i’ve done a cold air intake
A cold air intake seems like a great idea, but when they are tested on a dyno, they show little or no improvement. Nope. Sorry. Not worth the bother.
This part is complete nonsense. There is a cable adjustment that corrects the shifting of your transmission, but it has nothing to do with your gear ratio. That you believed this bit of Internet idiocy shows that you have very little understanding of vehicles. I don't say that to be insulting, but to help you begin to understand reality. The reality is, you have a lot to learn, and you can't begin to learn it until you stop listening to the idiots who peddle such nonsense.
More along the same lines, but this time about the business world, instead of vehicle mechanics. No, the factory is NOT hiding free performance from us. Like the man said about the gear ratio, "it doesn't work that way".
Brandon, you'll start to learn more about the real world (Jeeps, business, and all else), when you understand and accept this basic truth: TINSTAAFL.
There Is No Such Thing As A Free Lunch.
There are no secret, free performance upgrades. The factory isn't hiding anything. You can't run a car on hydrogen generated by the car that it's running. We really did land on the moon. The earth is not flat.
Stick around here and we'll be glad to help you.
