Default Flow master supper 10 or 40

I want an exhaust for sound and a slight performance boost. So should I go with the 10 or 40. I have a 2000 jeep cherokee classic 4.0 and I’ll keep the stock cat. Also should I look into a tip for sound or does that really matter.

I have a 40 on mine. I chose it because I loved the sound of my buddies Jeep that also has a 40 on it.

I wouldnt recommend a 10. Check out youtube clips of the 10s they can sound great but as far as I am concerned that is only for dual exhaust V8s

Is it on the stock catalytic conveter? And is there an exhaust tip?

I haven't used the Flowmaster brand but I have used the cheap mufflers that imitate the Flowmaster sound, I had a single chamber Flowmaster 10 style muffler and I didn't like the sound that much, they sound great on a V8 but not on an l6, I am running a dual chamber Flowmaster 40 style muffler now and it sounds much better. I have no cat and the exhaust is dumped underneath right before the rear axle.

mine is a stock cat and my buddy has an aftermarket high flow. They both sound very similar. No aftermarket tips just regular pipe.

Super 10 will be loud and quite a bit more raspy. 40 has a good deeper tone with some pops and gurgles, but you're not going to sound like the fastest car on the freeway.

Thrush Hush is a chambered FM clone. Cheap and usually available at the local parts store.

IMO a performance spun cat and a stock style muffler give the best sound. Louder, sounds modified but not cheap. I tried glass packs, chambered and both sounded cheesy and ricer. I used a cat from performancecurve and a Walker quietflow.
