I will sell you a hole load of these for your body lift... Just cram them under there...
Ok... Xj's are unibody meaning body and frame are one in the same... No xj can ever have a body lift. You have to do it all through suspension.
You would be looking at new control arms, sye and drive shaft, adjustable track bar, brake lines, and new coils and leaf packs would be a good idea

Or you could red neck it and cut to make a frame totally not safe but would make me laugh for sure

shackles are what your leaf springs bolt into.
If you want to lift it another inch or a little more, just get spacers for the springs and 1.5" shackles to bolt your leaf springs into.
Since your jeep is older, you can probably get away with no SYE. There's really no reason to buy it before you put your lift on anyway, so don't worry about that unless you have terrible drivetrain vibes after the lift.
As for brake lines, defnitely get the extended lines. Rough country has some that work well.

I did this my self. Here's a few things to take into consideration.
-add a leafs will sag with shackles. So when you think you'll be lifting it with a 2" shackle 2" your really only going to get maybe an inch.
-to keep it level you may want to take the front isolator out and just use a puck
-you may get drive line vibes (I did) for that you can fix it by sye (about 250$) a t-case drop. ( that means you'll loose a inch of ground clearance so is it worth lifting?)
-need more parts if you want it to flex good ( control arms control arm drops brake lines track bar new shocks)
-bastard pack will be 300% better than a shackle and is possible to make for around the same price and an actual leaf pack is a bazillion times better but more expensive.
-stock control arms no drop brackets work fine for any lift ( i think) cause the stock control arms only go down so far before they max out. So just relocate them.
Just think about it see if it's worth it or if you should wait and buy a complete lift kit that's set up right rather than finding things out your self. I took the hard route but I'm learning a lot.
