the BLOCKS interchange. Not the accessories that get bolted on it, such as manifolds, flywheels/flexplates, fans, pulleys, etc.

Pretty much every you wrote, my dad and I found out along the way. We did use a 94 motor so the temp sensor was in the same place as the renix. This particular motor swap was a first for the both of us, but wrenching isn't. So, by observations alone we did it, as you logically pointed out in your article, the right way. I now am happy to say that my vehicle has strong compression, replacing the weak compression, violent rod knock of the 89 motor. But can say that it did have 235xxx+ miles on it before it kicked the bucket.
