Default DIY Roll Cage

Anyone have thoughts on this?

I don't have a tube bender but have access to a welder:

Cage is cool, but would make it so the back bar going across is removable, as I sleep in the back of mine or the kids do

That actually looks really nice for a dd...an exo would be more ideal to protect the body, but for protection against a rollover this cage looks nice!

EOR makes some nice stuff but they are proud of it. Find a local shop and you'll spend less and get a much more custom fit.

looks like a decent starter kit but they could've made it a lot more snug and I'd like to see a couple of the front bars re-done. I agree with marc. go plate your frame front to back and have a local fab guy build you one

I agree with all the post, my thing is for a kit I can just buy and weld up it seems like a good deal. I still plan to check with local places.

My longer term plan is an exo, however, my thought is there basic cage for a starter, then. Later the exo and tie it into the internal cage? Money isn't wasted that way and it's a good solution In my mind as I'd want my exo to be slightly internal as well. Anyone know if his is dom and what wall?

To dawg you want a cage inside your cage?

Skip the whole idea for now and go do some research. You'll find that it's best to wait until you can get a strong exo that actually ties into the frame. And you'll want to plate your entire frame. Do it once do it right.

Good idea for a cage, but to last more than once you dont want it to just bolt to the floor.

Have you seen http://dandcextreme.com/product/d-and-cs-xj-cage-kits/
I like their cage better and people can ride in the back seat.

that looks like a much better starter kit. except for the weird bar at the back that looks like a spoiler on a hatchback.

The essentiallyoffroad needs more triangulation.

I have read some poor reviews for dandcextreme. One was a respected local wheeler.

Personally, I'd find a local shop so it can be custom fit to your rig like others have mentioned.

It's not hard for me to plate the frame and tie this cage to it, cuase thats what I am planning to do. I just don't have the means to bend tube right now.

If someone wants to loan me a tube bender I'd be more than happy to build my own...

From what I'm hearing though this kit is not worth the money?
Just better off buying a tube bender and doing it my self.
Anyone know a good place to buy / rent one?

I bought the JD Squared Model 3 when I did my cage. Then grabbed parts from Harbor Freight to make it hydraulic. Well worth the money to upgrade also.
