When you buy a dana 60 master install kit, they don't ask what pinion seal you need, they all come with the same seal. and the master install kit I used worked for everything in my 60-2.

Searching those numbers mentions that axle being from the front of a Dodge truck but I'm not 100% sure. Was there a small tag on one of the diff cover bolts?

no, there were only 2 tags that both said dynatrac on them. it is also possible that the cover came off of a front dana 60 and was put on my rear dana 60. im new to axles, but is it possible that i have a front axle in my rear end? didnt think that was possible...

Cover could be swapped but not the whole axle. A rear axle is a rear axle.

Post em all. I doubt I'll be able to visually identify it... They're a dime a dozen.

I'd pull the seal and go to the parts store and compare....

Or go to a parts store that has competent people working.

i just got back from the parts store. i pulled the seal and it has no numbers on it. only one on the rubber that didnt lead to anything on the napa computer or in their books. i got a seal for dodge truck but it was just a tad too big. the micrometer said was like 10 different or something like that and the guy at napa told me it was maybe because i warped the seal when pulling it out. tried to put it in when i got back, didnt quite fit. unless im trying to put it in wrong? just tapping around the rim of it lightly to get it started. but it just keeps popping out the other side.

Seals are supposed to be a tight fit.

What was the number on the rubber part?

Is there any other way to identify where the axle came from? I don't know what to get for a pinion seal. What vehicles had a 5 lug Dana 60? Maybe I can narrow it down that way
