Dumb question... How much are the pinion seals each? If anything get years and part numbers of dana 60s, buy 5-6 seals, pull the old, one match up, install return the rest.

Noone said for sure it was out of a bronco, that was just a speculation. i know its a dana 60 by the bolt pattern and diff cover. i just want someone to be able to recognize what vehicle it came out of by the meaurments or stampings on it. please do not post unless you have some sort of useful identification information.

I'm pretty sure you can rely on what ktm said, I read on some full size ford forums that early broncos had 60s before they had 9s. That would explain the 5 lug.

How about you make an effort to go to the store and pull seals just like anyone else would do.
Without skimming thru every single Dana 60 measurement on the internet we aren't going to be able to tell you any more info than we already have.
Your only chance of easily finding out what the axle came from is finding the BOM tag on one of the diff cover bolts. You didn't mention it so I assume it's not there.
Measure WMS, tube size, bolt pattern, shaft size, and a PICTURE and I'll do my best to identify your axle.
Until then start digging thru pinion seals. You could always pull the seal and look at the number stamped on the seal...

I am not trying to be cocky i just suppose i didnt fully understand where he was going with the bronco reference. the last thing i want to do is be rude to the people that are trying to help me.
Im willing to bet there are only a couple (if not just one) dana 60 pinion seals available for the older rearends anyway. and this rearend will run of the more common ones.
When you buy a dana 60 master install kit, they don't ask what pinion seal you need, they all come with the same seal. and the master install kit I used worked for everything in my 60-2.
