Dana 60 rear ID
I just purchased a 1993 cherokee 2dr and the rear pinion seal is blown out and i need to replace it. I believe the rear axle is a Dana 60 but the previous owner does not know what vehicle it came out of. therefore, finding the correct pinion seal at the parts store is going to be difficult. as this is my only vehicle, i cannot simply take out the seal and drive to the parts store and see if the sizes match up. to be honest im not sure if they would even do that for me. the markings on the differential webbing are as follows:
C-32501
60 2
SHF
hecho en venezuela
Thanks in advance

60-2? so i'm guessing its close to stock width, small tubes, 5 lug? probably an early bronco rear. 77 or earlier.

yes, its 5-lug and i know it is not stock. it was swapped in. is there any way to know for certain what axle it is? like is it positively out of a 77 bronco?

Yea, follow that chart and measure what you can. There aren't many 60 centers, so chances are you'll get the right seal/bearing if its early bronco.

i'll have to dissasemble it to get those specs. i was hoping there was another way to find out such as outside specs. bolt pattern, stampings, engravings, other outside measurements. the bronco statement was just a speculation i do not know for sure that it is out of a bronco. i was informed it was a dana 60. if looking at it would help, please tell me what you would be looking at and i can answer those questions.

Big David, i am not questioning whether or not it is a dana 60, more-so, what vehicle it came out of. to find out what pinion seal i need

i actually have some experience with this, as i ran a dana 60-2.
Its is a fairly rare semifloating dana 60, and as far as i know found in 70's international 3/4 tons, some older jeeps and some mopar muscle cars.
I would just order a pinion seal for say a 1973 international travelall 3/4 ton (what my rear was out of) and see how she fits, return it if it is wrong and report back here.
