First time I was being dumb... jumped it.. landed in a terrible spot. Broke closer to the housing. I was just down on the beach at the gulf so it was easy recovery.
The second time I bent it on a trial. Bent it back. Few months later I hit a dog going about 40 front tire caught air and snapped upon return to the ground. Not really an awesome story that time around.

yeah definitely sleeve it if you're gonna get racey, that's exactly what you need thicker wall tubing for. I still think a truss is more than plenty for rock crawling

IRO makes a nice D30 truss with everything for under $400.

Yea wasn't fun. It was about midnight on the road up the mountain to my house. 3 jumped out of the trees in front of me. Dodged two.. nailed the third. Carried it in to the owner (dead) limped my jeep another 3 miles up to my house with it snapped. In MT, if a dog (or any pet) isn't on a leash and causes vehicles damage, the dog owner is responsible to fix it. but I didn't bring it up. I have 3 dogs of my own. Pretty sure it only broke because of being bent. Must have had fractures or something.
In any case, trussed it and sleeved it and don't worry about it now. On the good side, I have a couple sets of spare shafts and one R+P
