Ya the set I found is a complete set off of a ford f250. With 4.10s $1200 for the set. Going to have to talk to my friend see if that's something he's willing to take on I may need to invest in Budweiser cause I'm sure I'll put a dent in their shares trying to convince him lol
Are you telling me to put my money in Budweiser?

I'll start off by saying that I know very little about this. I just got my first Cherokee about a month ago. I was told that a 8.25 29 spline is just as strong as a d44. I have a d35 in mine now but I just picked up a 29s 8.25 that I plan on putting in soon. Was I given bad info and will this swap be a wast of time?

Went to autozone to get a rear cylinder and it came up 89 and older. I've only seen a few on Craigs, thats where I got mine. No abs though. The guy pulled it to drop 60's lol

I thought I had read that somewhere but decided to ask better safe than sorry. That one jeep with the axle conversion is flippin epic. Looks like for the budget I'm allowed though I'll just be beefing up the stockers
(for now) lol and sticking with the 33s

From jeep horizons Dana 44 non c-clip - 30 spline, 1.31" diameter shafts, 8.5" ring gear, 2.75" axle tube - used 87-89 on some (not all) XJs equipped with towing package.

The c clip holds the axle shaft in so if you break a axle shaft or the c clip your wheel with the broken part of the shaft will slide out something like this
but less of a probem if you swap to dics brakes.
Nothing wrong with that I think thats what 90% of cherokee owners do
but less of a probem if you swap to dics brakes.

Yea thatll prolly be a build on the side the axles alone then one day put them on but for what I'm going to use it for now I think the built stockers will handle everything (I hope) lol

On the topic of full widths, cool, but can also be a pain. I've witnessed guys on full widths have trouble clearing obstacles that guys with stock width axles walked over. Pros and cons, everything has 'em.

When's the last time you heard of a c-clip breaking? Those suckers are thick *****. True, if you bust an axle shaft the wheel will depart, false that you're going to use a caliper to hold that axle in for any distance. Carry spares and tools, and that's that.
