Default Cooling Fans Upgrade

1995 Cherokee XJ with 4.0L high output inline 6. Right hand drive and used as mail tank. With all the stop and start driving I do, needing to
upgrade cooling fans to higher performance than stock. Any body have
experience with this? Would rather just change out stock with performance rather than refit. Do you know it has never overheated in
100+ weather?

I'm going through the cooling overhaul nightmare myself.
easy stuff would be flush the radiator and pull a 1997 xj efan. and the zj fan clutch is a good one (part number above^^) it will be LOUD.
just keep it clean

I ordered the Flow Kooler water pump today from Quadratec. The first of many cooling upgrades. I live in the desert where summer temps reach up to 120°. The next upgrade will either be a 2 core radiator or the electric fan setup here http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/feat...onversion-kit/

How do the specs compare from the 95 Stock oem to the 97 XJ e-fan and 97 fan clutch? Better to do this fix than convert to one of the triple fan setups?

I can recommend the Flow Kooler water pump. Had it installed for a year now and drastically improved the flow.

Thanks for all the advice!

I personally don't mind spending a little money every now and then on good parts and upgrades. Although using a second electric is good, what if one fails? Now what? One fan alone can't cool the engine alone. The odds of all three fans going out at the same time are slim. Most of the people here won't experience real desert heat so for them these upgrades aren't worth it. Its the beginning of May and temps here are already at the low 90s by 10am which is why I kind of need these extensive upgrades for the already hot running xj.

It's the amount of cores the engine water runs through to cool it down

Yep... Get one off ebay... Maybe $100-$150 shipped

I think stock is 2 core already though... For xj and Wj... should be 3 core to upgrade...

Still on the fence here with cooling upgrades to my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4.0L I6 4WD mail tank. 97 xj efan is $110 and not sure of the ZJ Napa fan clutch price, but not sure this fix is better than the suggested triple fan refit above at about $300, since I can't find a spec difference in stock vs the 97 OEM parts. New Griffin radiator is $620 which with the triple fan setup should enable me to make ice cubes in the desert. Can anybody sell me on the OEM upgrade vs performance?

Whatever you do avoid the dirt bound set up. The product and customer service was absolutely horrible. I wound up sending it back because nothing fit.
