Cooling Fans Upgrade
I would like to chime in here as I have been doing a lot of reserach to get my jeep to run cooler here in PHX AZ.
So the stock clutch fan pushes somewhere around 2500CFM I think?
I wouldnt consider getting a three fan setup just yet. If you are already going to be replacing the clutch on your fan why not just convert to dual electric?
Saves the engine some whine and I know from research that if you can find fans which will push more than the stock setup did. Take a look at this here: http://www.angelfire.com/my/fan/electric.html
Also if you have not seen this website yet I would take a look at it. http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/ The guy is from Australia but he has a whole write up in there about different cooling upgrades. And besides in Australia RHD is standard right? At the very least take a look at that ford taurus fan upgrade.
I am way on yourside that I would rather buy good parts for that extra comfort in knowing A) its not stock B) its not going to have to be put on the list of things that could possibly have broken. $600 for a radiator is a lot however, so try some of these fan upgrades first? Full electric would be more quiet than that huge fan clutch IMHO. Not to mention that you can save some ponies by going full electric? Hey if you are going to be stopping and starting like a typical mail truck mise well save all the gas you can mate!

Still on the fence here with cooling upgrades to my 1995 Jeep Cherokee Limited 4.0L I6 4WD mail tank. 97 xj efan is $110 and not sure of the ZJ Napa fan clutch price, but not sure this fix is better than the suggested triple fan refit above at about $300, since I can't find a spec difference in stock vs the 97 OEM parts. New Griffin radiator is $620 which with the triple fan setup should enable me to make ice cubes in the desert. Can anybody sell me on the OEM upgrade vs performance?
Well I can tell you this I have had a Griffin radiator in my wrangler for the past 10 years and never had another over heating issue even in temps up to 120 degrees. I'm also running a flo cooler water pump . These are both excelent upgrades
