Default Chrysler 8.25 trouble...

Im sure its my rear end that causing it. But i have a wobble at 45mph smooths out at higher speed and starts again at 70mph.
Tires are balanced and i have no play in the tires side to side but i do have 1/16-1/8in play in and out.
As of yesterday, my back drivers side tires locks up when coming to a stop. It happens some of the time not always.
Any ideas?
I was told its my outer bearing. And i was told that its my pinion bearing or gears.
I could use the advise. I don't have the cash to do all at the moment.

Get your tires rebalanced for The wobble... play in and out is normal, it's a C clip axle, it'll move a little...as for skidding at a stop, mine did the same thing and I adjusted the shoes through the access hole on the backing plate, use a brake spoon to adjust it, like $7 at AZ...wahla....no more skidding...

Im more then sure its not my balance. Ive spent more money on balancing and balancing my tires then i care for.

Sorry. Its a 3"lift no t-case drop and no SYE, and no shim.

Drop your Tcase at minimum.. You've got driveline vibes. The tire locking up is just contaminated brake shoes. Which means a bad seal, which could mean you have a bad wheel bearing, but that wouldn't cause a harmonic (speed sensitive) vibration.

Just got bearings and seals for $23. Im going to try replacing them today. And drop the case 1".

Wheel bearing dint fix the skidding. Driver side rear keeps locking up when i apply the break.

The tire locking up won't have anything to do with the rear end, if the brake shoes are clean (to the point you might consider eating off of them) and they still do it then they are either out of adjustment on that side or something is bent/broken/seized inside the drum. So if cleaning and adjusting the brakes doesn't fix the issue I'd replace the shoes and hardware as well as either machine the drums or replace them also. Pay close attention to the auto adjuster at the bottom of the brake and make sure that still spins freely as well as the cable that actuates it to make sure that isn't broken. As far as the vibration, I've never seen or heard of a rear end being a direct cause of one without catastrophic failure involved. It sounds like as mentioned you have some driveline vibrations.

Only time my rear breaks are aggressive is when they are wet, but they usually return to spongy and relatively ineffective after a couple stops.. As for vib's, are your tires older? Sometimes there can be no compensating for worn out tires. Either that your u joint is going, but I doubt it.. Good luck!

When off work Im going to change the breaks. And do a t-case drop of one inch.
My Ujoints are all good.

Check your right rear wheel cylinder it could be seized up. Jack up the back and have someone hold their foot on the brake while you turn the rear wheels by hand. Make sure your rear shoes are adjusted well, they should slightly drag on the drums. If the right rear has less bite than the left , you have a bad wheel cylinder . This can cause lockup on one side.

Ok so i cleaned up the breaks with cleaner and found my adjuster was sticking. Its a new adjuster along with the other side.
It was threaded all the way in so Im thinking i might have switch them. Not sure there is a difference in sides.
When i got the Xj the rear breaks were destroyed and i had to rebuild them blind.
