My factory bumpstop bolts broke off flush when trying to install new bumpstops (all 4 of them). So I need to do something like this. I'll make a plate up to weld onto the U-bolt plate - my question is, should the U-bolt plate be taken off to weld the bumpstop plate or would it be okay to just weld it while in place?
