cb wiring
Hey guys I've got my CB in box and am looking at mounting spots but my question is how did you wire yours for power and ground? I was wondering if anybody spliced into the cigarette lighter or if that's even a good option... I've even thought of just cutting the lighter out all together because I never use it and still have the power outlet.
What do you guys think?

Run a wire directly from your battery.... your cb needs that constant straight power that it wont really get from tapping into other aux powred things in the HEEP. Dont forget to tune your antenna on a SWR meter and make sure its got a good ground

I have mine mounted next to the passenger seat by the shifter. I ran the power wire to an ignition constant fuse in the fuse box, and the ground to a seat mounting bolt. It's only on when the ignitions on- I like it like that.

When you say you ran it to a power constant fuse how exactly did you do it? I just pulled a fuse out and stuck the line in and shoved the fuse back into its place. Does that sound right?

I went to radio shack and bought a little box- I don't remember what they're called, but it's basically a butt connector on one end, and a small fuse size "U" on the other so you can put it into the fuse box. I don't remember what number I have it tapped into, but I know that it was an empty spot in the box. Try them one by one and see which one is ignition constant and use that one.
