cant remove lower control arm bolt
Hi I've been looking everywhere but can't find anything that will help.
I'm am working on putting a 3" lift on my 93 Cherokee everything was going good until I tried to remove the lower control arms. I got the sides attached to the axle out in no time but the bolt on the side connected to the frame won't move. The nut came off easy but I just can't get the bolt to turn.
I have tried pb blaster and an impact wrench with no luck.
Any help is greatly appriciated

Hey!
I haven't had to do this yet, but my best guess would be to let it sit with some pb or wd 40 sprayed on and around the bushing and bolt. Try using an impact after letting it soak. If this still doesn't work, your best bet is most likely either hitting it with heat and then trying the impact again or just cutting it out.
Good luck, and Happy Holidays!

I've done the "Grab the BFH and take a few swings" deal, it bent the frame bracket when the bolt didn't move. What always works for me is a ball joint press, it will push the bolt out a couple inches and air hammer it the rest of the way.

The above may work where road salt don't live and if it does work in the North, it's one time out of ten.
I do lifts for a living and have tricks to doing things so it don't take all day to do simple stuff.

I have used a 3/4" breaker bar with a 2ft extention and no luck. I turned the bolt 90* and all I did was twist the bushing and broke the wrench that was holding the nut. even after soaking it in pb and heating it up, no luck. end result was having to cut the bolt out. replaced it with grd8 bolt and lock nut and lock washer and its good to go. good luck

jeez, guys on this forum think a BFH will fix absolutely anything on a cherokee! Ok, well it fixes a lit, but not everything! As for me, lower control arms were no match for all day long with a sawzall and an entire package of blades
! PITA!

Yes, this is true. It was seized on my UCA (axle end) and this was what was left afterwards. This only came out from soaking for a couple days and then an impact. See those "shiny rings", those are because the stock sleeve has "***** inside it instead of being the actual diameter of the bolt.
