ok new on this 2.... wut is the point of bedlining the roof and hood only?to me that sounds like asking for underhood and in cab overheating?

wut i want to do is just a strip down the side and not the wole outside of the jeep, i also want to bedline the floor on the inside and everything i can reach underneath the truck.

to me that sounds similar to just doing the wole body so i bet il be good wth 2 gal and id get a smooth liner, im not realy a fan for how it looks so id rattle can over it with something else, guessing a smooth liner and rattlecan finish should be good for cleaning?

My jeep was always hot and i dont notice anything worse with the roof bedlined. I bedlined my roof because if you ever use your roof rack, you increase grip and prevent scratching. Like why you bedline the bed of your truck.

Oh, the prep work was just fine. Sandblasted the rust spots and hit the rest of the bed with a sander.

I would suggest Krylon Fusion paint.I used this on my grill after I sprayed with Windex & wiped off the dirt.
Been on there over six months.Hurculiner does fade fast,at least the old version did.
You get what you pay for but even the best stuff will mess up without decent prep work.

It should turn your XJ into a nice solar Box.

So I requested a free sample of Durabak's bed liner, and it looks pretty nice. Their info pamphlet seems to swear by it, especially for the entire paint job.

http://www.nonslipcoating.com/

Appears to be about $119/gallon for textured, $139 for smooth, which kind of looks nice, but their textured doesn't look too bad. I'm just worried that mud will get stuck in the textured crevices and be annoying to wash.

Any thoughts?

look at mostaliner. Great stuff. not as rough and it is actually an epoxy, so you don't have all that crushed up rubber in it to fall off

So I've been thinking of bed lining the entire Jeep, but I also really like the look of an OD green Jeep. Then I realized I could do both.. How would it look?

I'm sure other companies offer different colors, but I know Durabak does - http://www.nonslipcoating.com/colorchart.htm Haven't decided on textured or not though..

Monstaliner comes in several color imcluding OD. A gallon kit is right around $120 but it is well worth it. It is annactual epoxy and not paint with rubber chunks in it
