then you have a dana 35 c-clip and 27 spline rearend, heres a diff chart so u can see the difference

and for your gearing you have 3.55, another way to tell is jack the rear up, spine the tire and count how many times the shaft spins

so first step is to find what axles? are the easiest to swap? ive read explorers are ok and the only front one is if i find a d44 from a tow package cherokee?

Yeah you can lock the 30 it will still help you tones on offroading, ik lots of people that only have one axle locked

if you can fab get a ford 8.8 out of an explorer, if not then a chrysler 8.25 out of a 97-01 xj they are 1 spline short of a dana 44 so their strength is equal, and swap is completely bolt in with no mod needed. just make sure you find one with the right gearing, as far as front axles go all xjs came with a dana30

all 97- 01 xjs have 8.25? and if i get that and just lock the back will it make a huge difference offroad?

Most are 3.55 gear, and yes it will make a big difference!

And you can still lock your 30 up front to, and it will be great for offroading!
