alright how do i know what spline by diffs are? so i can look into ordering them

You could call the dealer, unless po did any mods. What year is the jeep

 

if you are running stock axles then they both should be 27 spline, do you have an auto or a manual tran? do you have a towpackage?

If it's 97+ then it is a 29 spline

 

how do u have a 8.25 rear then? i dont beleive you could get them until 91. did you swap it out? from 91-96 chrysler 8.25 are 27 spline and from 97-01 they are 29 spline, 84-89 used dana35 non c-clip and from 90-01 they used dana 35 c-clip which both are 27 spline

 

no i bought it from a guy when i was 16 but i looked at teh diff pictures and it matches the 8.25 are there similar ones?

 

The d35 does kinda look alike, that probably what you have and they don't recommend locking those.... To weak

 

if you have a 8.25 then it was swapped out, if you look at the diff is it round, or is it flat on the top and bottem?

its pretty round i see the 8.25 and 4 little notches on the outside this doesnt have any? must be a 35 then which is no good from what i read

 

a dana 35 is completely round and the chrysler is flat on top and bottem, another easy way to tell if you have one or the other is if you have abs brakes, if you do then you have a dana35 if not you could have either or, the 8.25 is more commen to see tho with no abs
