Default Axle Swap

So I have an 88 jeep that I'm putting an 5.5" long arm lift and stage 2 stroker kit in, and have a few questions about what I should do with the axles. I was thinking of having a rockjock 60 built custom for me for around 4 grand, but i found out the my friend has his 93 grand cherokee all time 4 wheel drive for sale for $500 because it has a warped head. What would it take to convert the axles, would everything fit, and would it be worth it?

What size tires/terrain are you planning on running and what axles do you have now?

Low pinion front axles and ZJ's are popular with the D35.

Yep, you don't want that crap. Let us know what you want to do with this thing and we can advise.

Lifting it 6 inches for rock crawling and mudding. I'm just going to get my own Rock jock 60's (currie) built for me for a little more than 4 grand. What gear ratio should i go with?

32's for now (got a hell of a deal on them that I couldn't pass) then when those wear down (next year?) 35's-37's.

dana 60 is kinda overkill for 35s and probably have crappy ground clearance under the diff. Are you trying to go full width or keep it same width axles you have now?Stock width i would go a 80 or newer non disconnect jeep wagoneer dana 44 it will fit once you get a truss and all the mounting tabs welded on it.If you want bolt in currie has a nice dana 44 for it.Rear end normal width 96 up ford explorer 8.8 once you weld in the spring perches and shock mounts it fits.Other options isuzu rodeo/honda passport dana 44 same thing weld on the spring perches and shock mounts,Or currie sells a 9 inch housing that fits the xj as well.If you want full width axles you have options ford dana 44 and 9 inch rear or even a gm 14 bolt rear as well.
