Default axle no centered help

I have a 97 xj with 33s and a 4.5'' lift and it seems my front axle isn't centered with the wheel well. Is there a way to move the axle forward or back?

You can do that with adjustable control arms.

I know you can do this with adjustable control arms. I do not get any adjustment with fix length control arms?

You can get a small amount of adjustment by putting shims on the frame side of your bottom control arm mount.

How do I go about getting the little adjustment out of non adjustable control arms.

On the rear mount of the lower control arm there is a cam that has some adjustment, you can loosen the bolt and the Two nuts on the back side, and slide it forward.

Oh ok I know what you are referring to. I’m guessing the front end needs to off the ground? Not sitting on the tires? Sorry for the dumb questions this all has been a big learning process for me.

When you install the control arm drop kit do you think I can keep the tires on the jeep and not jack up the front end? I was planning on doing one side at a time. Thanx.

I was also thinking about getting the rough country drop arm kit.

If all you're doing is the drop kit, maybe.......(mine is rough country too)

When I did mine, I also did new WJ control arms, new wheel bearings, brakes/calipers/rotors, longer brake lines, new ball joints, all new stock style steering, and I also installed a boostwerks steering brace....so the whole front end was apart.

And now 2-3 years later I have replaced the stock steering with the SFR aluminum 1 ton UTK system and a ruffstuff steering stabilizer clamp....got tired of replacing TREs almost every year.

I would jack the front end up and remove the wheels but where I currently live I only have a one car garage and no driveway, my space is very limited. I just hate paying for labor especially when I am more than capable of doing all my work my self.

I had great success with this kit. As for install without jacking it may be possible. I didn't do it that way but I cant remember a reason you couldn't. CAD kit makes a world of difference in handling for sure.

lol..I stopped to help a guy, looked like he had broken down...nah...just working on his car "away from his neighbours"

totally understood, as especially when tuning a big multi-carb engine, you have to idle & rev them for an extended period, drives the neighbours nuts.

have taken vehicles to a quiet, level outside area to do that job before, so long as it isnt raining
