Have one in my D30. Love it. Going to buy one for the rear when I convert to 29 splines.

Ran them front and rear in my old axles for about 4-5 years and loved them. Went in easy and worked perfectly.

I had one in the rear for a little while....I will say one thing. Their customer service is un-beatable! Hands Down!

I had alot of problems with mine. I loved it when it worked right had issues where it would lock and unlock in straight line acceleration. I finally broke one of the alignment pins on my last wheeling trip and I wouldn't say I wheel hard by any means.

I am hoping it was just a fluke. Aussie sent me a new locker under warentee I am just waiting for some diff covers I ordered to show up before I button it back together.

I wish spartan made a locker for the 8.25 I have one in my 30 and that thing is flawless.

Does the aussie come with a hardened cross pin like the spartan?

No, but im willing to bet that the cross pin on your 8.25 would be a hardened pin.

I was thinking mine came with pins but it's been a few years and memory isn't what it used to be.

I just installed one in my Dana 35 in my 1989. So far so good. I have hammered on it a few times on the blacktop to see what would happen. Its all good.

I have had mine in the big rocks. They work well if installed correctly. They are what they are. An inexpensive locker that utilizes a stock carrier. If you want something stronger, you have to spend more, bottom line

I bought a used one off craigslist for my d30 and its awesome, you hardly know its there until you make a u-turn on dry pavement (then it clicks/clunks). Plus, in 4lo I can now walk straight up a jersey barrier without lighting up the back tires.

They do not come with the hardened cross pin. The cross pin in your carrier should be hardened. In fact it is very important that it is. To check take a file to the edge of the pin and try and score it. If you can make a mark with the file then you will need a new pin.

If the pin is to soft it will flex under load just enough to allow the pressure on the locker to become uneven. Another important note: If installing bigger gears, do not grind the center pin! This is what I did and it will blow the locker apart every time.

When it was all said and done, I went with a Detroit and Aussie refunded my money.
