Alright so I apologize if this was already covered. I was initially thinking of doing a flowmaster 40 catback setup on the 89' Renix, but in thinking what I want is a really nice deep rumble. It seems that the Magnaflow muffler is what is going to be a good option for this, but which model is everyone putting on that is achieving this sound? Also can anyone recommend a good hi-flow cat? Mileage wise as well as sound...

Is a flowmaster 40 going to be obnoxiously loud? I'm planning to pick up a 40 and a 2.5in tailpipe, but I don't want to get it and be stuck with a loud exhaust. I want it to sound good not **** off my neighbors.

If it's Commiefornia complient.
Anyways, how do you guys like the Flowmaster Super 10? I live in the country so I kinda want it to be loud.
This is what inspired me to want it:

Ok so I was wondering I love loud so I'm on open headers right now but to me it sounds like a john deere tractor so I was wonder what if I welded my flowmaster super 40 straight to the header itself....have y'all ever heard of this? The idea popped in my head and wondered if anyone has ever done it on any vehicle

Don't put a glasspack in, it will sound like a freaking rice mobile. Go with the flowmaster super 40 or super 44. I'm looking at putting one of them in my XJ. They have a nice deep tone to them and are really loud but not loud enough to not let you talk on the phone normally

Just out of curiosity. What are the penalties involved on the forum for mentioning the removal of a cat....not saying I would do it, I never would (freaking cops in my area are **** about that)
Depends on how hard headed one wants to be.
