Magnaflow sounds weak huh ?

My Xj doesn't sound too weak with my Magnaflow

 

I think me & Tom95yj r like the only ones with magnaflow's on our rigs everyone on the forums seem to love flowmaster

 

This is the only video I have with my new 2-1/2" cattless exhaust system with a magnaflow muffler ans both wj's have the thrush weld chamberd muffler

 

I had flowmaster on my 83 Z28 it sounded decent with a mild SBC and headers .
My 94 Z28 had borla with Mac Longtubes and it was treated to a LT1-LT4 conversion and punched to 355ci it sounded evil it was in your face I always got pulled over cause it was too loud, My TJ had a Borla Header with Dynomax Ultra flow, My YJ had a 40 series flowmaster that was replaced with Magnaflow, My 02 Mustang GT had Magnaflow's , MY DD has a Jackson Racing header and Magnaflow, and the XJ has magnaflow.

I like that they slightly louder then stock at idle and dont drone at cruising speeds then when you go wide open they get angry sounding

 

Got an apn header for my rig. had to shave the bottom of the intake near the #6 exhaust tube as well as the #7 bolt hole on the exhaust manifold (in the torque sequence, lower rearmost one). Used a piece of paper as a feeler gauge. Also had an issue torquing some of the bolts because the pipes got in the way. Hopefully it'll be worth the hassle.

Don't get offended buddy, its just my opinion. I wouldn't have described them as such, if I never heard them. It sounds like a fart can. they get to pitchy when its reved up. but if your happy then cool.

Flows idle is deeper and more hollow.

That "Popcorn" sound that someone said they don't like is whats known as a cam lope idle. I love that sound. A lot of people don't like the drone, but I love it.

I don't think I've ever heard someone say they don't like a cammy sound..

To me thrush,spintech and flows sound the best.

I've always liked borla, I just never heard them on an inline 6.

 

Ditto. But then again I ran around straight piped for a few years.

 

They sound good, but too much money for a tractor motor. I run them on my V8's

 

Flows or dyno max race bullets
Had 3" race bullets on my 55 Chevy it had a 454 in it .
Car was ok at idle but man when you ragged on it everyone knew it !
Had flows on my 79 Chevy shirt bed pick up they were great .
Been looking at exhaust for my xj I need a muffler for sure and I might as well sling a 2 1/2 tail pipe under it while I'm there .

 

I put a MagnaFlow on mine -- even removed a brand new SpinTech to do it, too! The SpinTech was a bit to loud for my tastes. Guess I'm gettin' old.

 

What model spin tech? U sell it?
