The flowmaster 40 series on my xj works just fine of course it's a temp set up as my cat rusted out and I haven't had time to add a new one yet, however I did my stepdads 4.7 ram with a cherry bomb and it sounds awesome both set ups will "popcorn".

Anyone know if flowmaster and thrush are the same? I forget where I read it but I thought they said they were the same mufflers made in the same way just had different names and one was 1/3 of the price. (Thrush)

Ill explain it like this flowmaster
and thrush are like dr pepper and dr thunder. You can tell a difference and one is "better" made but is it worth triple the price?

Magnaflows sound week imo. flows are deeper and have no tinny sound.

Your right every one got there own taste but to me if you put a chamberd muffler on anything less than a v8 you get that glopy/popcorn sound vs the the magnaflows clean deep tone on our motors (4.0)

Like I said IMO a chamberd muffler sounds awesome on a v8 but on anything less than a v8 and you get a glopy sound it might sound decent @ idle but put a load on it and let the glopyness begin
