I don't think your ever going to get that sound out of a cherokee without swapping in a V8.

Lose the glasspack and resonator and redo the exhaust in 1.5" plumbing pipe and put a 4" tip on it

But seriously, this is what you'll have to do. I got my header on today and it doesn't even do the when it's open.

A pacesetter. I'll tell you what, my boss used to have a 4x4 shop and he has never had a header that just bolted on. The ps bolted right on. The downpipe's angle makes it clear the drive shaft too. So far I love it, though if I rev it over 3000rpms it dies lol. GOOD FLOW!!

Ive got a comp extreme 4x4 cam, banks header, and magnaflo "race only" small oval muffler. Sounds just like my nova! Well almost. If its that lopy muscle car sound you are after you need a cam.

Just spotted this thread so I apologize for the repost. So looking for some advice. My 97 XJ needs a new cat-back exhaust system and cat converter, ordered both parts from Amazon.

Dynomax 17340
Amazon.com: Dynomax 17340 Exhaust System: Automotive Amazon.com: Dynomax 17340 Exhaust System: Automotive

Magnaflow 23226 Directfit Cat Converter
Amazon.com: Magnaflow 23226 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter (Non CARB compliant): Automotive Amazon.com: Magnaflow 23226 Direct Fit Catalytic Converter (Non CARB compliant): Automotive

On a scale of 1-5, how difficult is this going to be?
I've only done some minor maintenance since I've owned the Jeep, so I don't have a lot of experience when it comes to more advanced projects like these.
Anything I should know? Specific tools I need or equipment I need?
Thanks
