I'm gonna repost this (I think thats allowed lol)

On a 3 inch lift, do you need control arms? Why or why not?

Is add-a-leaf really THAT bad? I mean, people say they wear out, but is it just a loss of ride quality, or do they sag really bad after a while?

I need to get some new 31x10.5x15 they will be used for mild trails and a lot of DD. I cant spend a lot so $750 is my max. Oh and they'll need to be good for winter driving as it gets nasty around here. Any help will be appreciated.

I would recommend GT Radial Adventuro Mud Terrains. They did me really good on the trails and on the road. There isn't any sidewall tread but I never cut a sidewall and the still performed well. I never drove them in the snow so I can't comment on that. The 31's can be had for about $140 a tire if not cheaper, I got 4 brand new 33's for $500.

Yes but you can do without. it will shift your axle toward rear.

You will need new coils, rear springs, and depending what your kit came with, control arms/trac bar/brake lines/ and maybe SYE.

Shackles arent a bad thing though, not like a puck anyways.

I need help deciding on a set of tires. I'm looking for something thats going to do well in the sand, but will also get me through the snow and mud if I need to, and not just leave me sitting there spinning. The size I'm looking for is 31/10.5/15-31/11.5/15, right now I'm looking at the Interco TrXus STS. Does anyone have any experience with these? any other suggestions? BTW, this is my DD and I'm also not looking to break the bank, prefer under $170/tire, Thanks guys.

Goodyear duratrac. Extreme winter rating and studdable. Less than 150 a tire.

I purchased some Skyjacker lower control arms (for my XJ, but they are the ones for TJ/XJ) and was told I could just reuse my stock bushings so I went out and bought all new bushings and they dont fit, the ones I bought are substantially larger than the hole in the control arm. Am I missing something?

Cliff Notes:

Bushings dont fit in control arms.

you were probably told wrong. just call up skyjacker and buy their bushings. shouldn't cost much

Hey guys, I've been reading through the forum and find lots of different opinions. I hate to ask the same questions over again but it always seems like better advice when gave to you personally

So here's what I've got and what I want... I have a stock '93 Cherokee country that I want to run 31's on. The truck is my DD so I'd like to maintain a good ride but still be somewhat capable off road. I've been looking at 3" lifts but with all the brands and options the decision has been hard to make. What's a good kit? I do want to do it right the first time! Also will I need to extend brake lines, drop the TC and such as well or is there enough play in the older models to lift 3" without mechanical issues? What kind of back spacing do I need to look for while choosing my wheels? Any tips or foresight you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated!! I have the truck and I have a set of 31's already from a 4x I sold a few months back so that leaves me with about $1500 to set up my new rig if that helps.... Thanks! -HR

Thanks Gatchmo! Is relocating the track bar for proper alignment not good enough? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm not a suspension guy I'm more at home under the hood
