After searching around and reading in to lift kits, I finally decided to buy a 3.5" RE Super-Ride (Full Leafs, not AAL). I found it for $500 with free shipping. Pretty damn good price from what I have been seeing. Now I'm in the search of getting some shocks. I look around and I see the shocks are labeled as being for 2-3 inches of lift, and then i see others that say 4 inches of lift. What size shocks should I be looking at? I dont want to get a shock that is too small or long, and to be honest I'm not exactly too savvy when it comes to this..
HELP!!
Thanks all.
Currently I'm looking at these shocks, Bilstein 5100.
But I'm always open for suggestions!
If anyone also has any suggestions as far as quick-disconnects, transfer case drops, etc. Please do tell.
Thanks all.

i would be doing minimal flexing, so if I went with the 4" shock you think i'd be fine, because i want to put on a 3/4"-1" shackle/coil spacer lift as well.
I have a 94 XJ with an RE 3.5" full leaf kit that gave me 4.5" of lift.. I want to put on 33" tires. What size wheels should I use with what BS. Also what width 33s should I get. This is a daily driver only. I would like them to fit without any or very little trimming. Thanks
Hello all,
First off, I have been reading until my eyes are hurting.... I am sure the question has been asked so please go easy on me for this post. I bought my son a 2001 XJ and we want to lift it and re-tire it, with that said are there any 4" kits available that won't require fabrication? I am mechanical and have wrenched in my years but I am looking for a bolt on kit. Any help would be nice.
Thanks, Don

Most of the long arms require fab work, but as far as short arms 99% of the the ones you can order are all bolt on. You might have some trouble getting bolts out but thats it

yes 245/75/16 is about 30.5"
do a 15x8 wheel with 4" BS..for a DD and 33s..33x10.5 would probably be your best bet..but they do look smaller than a 12.5" wide tire IMO
yes 4" shocks are perfect. i run 6.5-9" shocks on mine with a 6" lift and i get all the downtravel i could ever need also thanks to long arms. same shocks as in my avatar and thats not even full droop
most kits are 100% bolt on. as stated, just getting the bolts out and lining up the axle with the new control arms is the hardest part.
