I've got a 1990 XJ that I'm fixing to think about lifting and putting tires on. I've pretty much decided on the 4.5" rough country lift. I really like the stock rims (brushed alloy spokes with jeep emblem on the hub). Was thinking 33's but not sure how wide i can get on the stock rims?? Suggestions? Advice?

Ok so I decided I'm gonna try the RC 6.5" LA lift. If u have this lift let me know if u like it or hate it and the pros and cons. Any advice would be helpful.

nothing but good things... read all these good things a few post back on this thread... back track alittle and check them out...
I have read up onthe 2" RE lift and it seems to get good reviews and is available w/ the 2.5" aal for 259.00. If i dont install the aals on my slightly sagging XJ and go w/ The OME 2" med. leaf packs for 111.oo each. will my XJ be fairly level w/ the 2" coil spacers from the RE kit?

Ok, I tried to read the whole thing, but its really too much. I have a 87 waggy, just like XJStryker's. My dad and I bought the 4.5" RC Lift Kit. I feel confident on doing the front suspension, but Ive never worked before with spring leafs and Im not sure what would be the best way to putthe add a leaf. Can somebody point out, more or less, in what page in this thread, suggestions might be available? or if there's none, can somebody tell me how to tackle this task.
I have a 3in lift and 1.5in spacers on my 96 XJ. Will 31x10.50s rub on my
CAs. If so then how much backspacing will I need ? I bought new Soft 8s but can take them back and get bigger backspacing. I havent had them mounted yet. What should I do? Thanks. The tires are Super Swamper SSRs and they are brand new. Will it work. The rims I bought are factory backspacing.

I wanna put 20's on mine, but not sure what size 20" tire is closest to my 31's...
I just bought a 96 Cherokee XJ last night with from what I can tell has a 3" lift. when I drove it home last night the steering seemed to be a little sloppy to me is this from someone not doing the lift correctly or is it because I am not use to driving a lifted vehicle with large tires? How would the handeling differ from a regular vehicle?
Thanks for your input.
Thanks for your input.
I tried to find a post with the same question as me, but couldn't find one.
so.. I replaced my rear leaf springs with a pair from the junk yard, which I thought would bring me up to stock height, but now the height is 19" form the center of my tire to the fender. which I think is about 4 or 5" of lift compared to stock.
I have the front coil springs from the junk yard that went with the leaf springs.
so my question is: With that much lift will I need any mods. (lower control arms, stabilizer bar, track bar, ect.)?
I've always done my own work on my jeep but never lifted it.
so any input would be greatly appreciated.
