I'm in the "deciding on the bump-stop length" part of [what has turned into] my budget lift project ...can one of you guys take a look at the tables I made & posted for the JK Rubicon "red" shocks at jeepforum.com ("inspired" by a dukie564 question of a years plus back that no one else seemed to have answered lol), and tell me what length bump-stop I'll probably need using those shocks for a 2 inch lift? If any?

...I dunno anything about bump-stops. Yet. But I want to do this right lol. So I would surely appreciate a quickie answer, as I'd like to get these - along with the new u-bolts - ordered later today.

TIA.

It's got a 3" lift on it now so its not like I'm going from stock to 4.5" all at once.

I have a 95 with a rc 4.5" x series lift. (Adj. Control arms,t-case drop, full 4.5" leafs) I want to add a 1.5" budget boost. You think I will run into any problems?

Might need longer shocks. And re-adjust everything. Also control arm angles miight not be the best but it should work.

Tcase drop might be insufficient at that height too.

We would be just giving you a "best guess" answer. Best bet is to lift it then flex each wheel. Get the most flex you can without the tire touching then measure how much bump stop you need.

You're going to make me work for this LOL?

...I'd be willing to take that "best guess" and just run with it ...I'm a bit of a lazy bast**d.

His answer, more simply, is that we can't tell you. You have to measure it.

Or just do it like me, leave the stock bump-stops and then measure the damage to the fenders. Totally easy and takes all the guessing out of it.

You guys are torturing me.

I originally stopped by here just to see why my XJ ride seemed a bit harsh.

...now I'm having to study stuff.

I thought they said there wouldn't be any math!

...I blame Bush.
