ive heard some people say an AT doenst need the strap, but my guess is it was probably a wore down 31
I currently have a somewhat worn down 31" BFG AT T/A KO that fits back there. It's angled a bit more, but it fits and is even bolted in with the stock equipment (the wheel is flipped around so that the front of it is "closer" to the side of the jeep where it bolts down). Try putting one back there the next time you rotate your tires.
Hi, first of all this is my first XJ and the first time I actually have the money, wherewithal, and desire to build a jeep. Now I just recently bought this jeep and it has a 2" short arm kit (don't know for sure if its 2" and don't know who did it nor do i know the make of the lift) but it sits on fairly new 31/10.5/15 BFG M/T KM2s with cut fenders to fit 31s. Since this is my first build I have just been doing the easy stuff (roof rack, bumpers, winch, ect..) but I would like to build the jeep to 33s eventually (maybe soon). My question is what would be the best way to go about this? Im really in no hurry and I want it done right so i am willing to holdoff and do a longarm kit or whatnot. But is there any way to keep my short arms and lift it further? This is my DD and will continue to be.
Thanks, James
Thanks, James
if i have a 2+inch body lift can i
1) put 31x1050r15's on without issue? (not worried about lock to lock scrub)
2) is an adj. track bar worth it? the stock one is old, and i imagine the bushings are about worn out. can i put an adj. on stock sus.? ive heard that there is potential for track bars to simply wear out within a few months. should i just go oem for now? THANKS!!

And the adjustable track bar is ABSOLUTELY worth it.

im guessing that you mean because of limited wheel well area, that the 31's wont fit untill i bring the entire thing up with an actual lift?
No such thing as a body lift on an XJ. Though with a 2" lift I managed 31X10.50X15 BFG AT KOs with trimming the bumper end-caps and extended bumpstops. Other than that they rub at full lock on the lower control arms.
so if there is no such thing as a 2inch body lift, what were the 2inch poly spacers and extended brackets i put on to raise my body 2 inches?
im confsed- no sarcasm, i just dont get it!
