Question

Hey y'all, done with the removing the control arms and got the new ones on! The bad thing is I'm pretty sure i ordered shocks that are too short because the front two will be fully extended to be able to be installed at ride height.... I ordered those shocks because my buddy (one i got the lift from) thought it was a 4" lift, but it turns out that its way taller than 4" of lift. So, i was wondering if i need to get newer new shocks or if there's any way that i can use these shocks but extend them w/a bracket or something? I really dont want to order new shocks unless i absolutely have to..

Might be able to just call the company up you bought them from and tell them the situation and ask if you can send those shocks back and get the right size ones .

absolutely you will at 5". You can probably get the stock ones back on temporarily by lowering the lift down to compress the axle to ride height, that way the LCAs will clear the bottom of the bracket thing, then use a rachet strap or pure muscle to push the axle towards the rear and slide the LCA bolts in. I wouldn't run it too long like this though...

I am installing a 4.5 rc lift on my xj and I want to know if anyone is still running a factory front skid plate because when my suspension is hanging the steering won't turn left due to the skid plate. Any spacing it out or is my only soulution to this is get rid of it?

Oh nice! I've got plenty of lift for 33's but sadly not ebough motor or money for new gears. I'm stuck at 31's till I regear and then I'm thinking 4.56's and 35's

Thanks. I figure with my gears and new motor combined it would be comparable to a 4.0 with 4.10s on 33s.
