In the back, if this is a DD you will DESPISE how blocks and shackles ride. Blocks have the wonderful trait of snapping leaf springs under axle warp as well - not fun. For a sweet riding 3" you need to get new leaf springs, or do a bastard pack (i recommend Dakota leaf springs for this).
Once you factor in the cost of other things you will need (shocks, Transfer case drop, adjustable track bar, etc), you may as well get a complete kit. Stay away from Add-a-leaf kits also since they tend to sag and ride terrible.

Full packs are definitely worth the extra expense. They ride much better and won't sag over time like an AAL. You could certainly get the AAL kit, sell that AAL and make your own pack.

hey all, new here, so i figured id make this my first post since i have to diagnose a death wobble situation. i owned this 1988 chief for from 06-09, sold it for 1k, it will be back in my driveway as of 6pm tonight. Anyway since i have to fix DW, and get rid of the sag in the rear, im planing to do a 3" lift since the front will be under review... Im only payin $400 this time around, and i dont even know the current mileage but i dont want to drop $1k minimum to get to 4.5", i dont want re 3.5" because SYE and cv, i was wondering what kit would give a little bit up a rake, cause thats the look im going for. So pretty much nothing with AAL... pretty much hoping the track bar is shot and the bolt holes arnt f'd on other components.....

Couple quick questions. First off thanks for the advice on the lift I purchased the IRO 5.5 Critical Path Long Arm kit earlier today and am now trying to decide on wheels and tires.
The first question I have is, I've looked around at the big name websites for a tire and wheel package but nothing really jumps out at me. I like the MT Classic II's but i'm not quite sold on the polished but untreated finish. I definitely don't want Chrome. Is there a site anyone has dealt with or recommends for sets of wheels and tires? Preferably one that will mount and balance. I looked in the vendors section but didn't see any deals atm.
Second question has to do with backspacing but that will all depend on wheels I select. But lets take the MT classic II's 16x8 for example, they claim to have +0 offset. If I want to run 33x12.50R16 would I need wheel spacers to get the wide aggressive look or would that create clearance issues with the fender?
Is there a ideal backspacing for 33x12.5's?
