Slip yoke eliminator. A sye combined with a cv drive shaft can take care of any drive line vibes you get from lifting your jeep.

First, take time to scan the threads in the forum before posting, you will be surprised how much you can learn, and then ask your questions if a concept or term is not clear. Google and "Search" are your friend.

Doing a XJ right takes time, patience, and $$, and you will always be short of at least one of those things.

SYE means "slip yoke eliminator", to get rid of the "sliding" yoke in the rear drive shaft of an XJ, coming from the transfer case. It's a common cause of drive line vibration in lifted XJ's, typically when lifted over 4.5".

BUT, each XJ is a little different. You just have to lift and see.

Firestone Destination A/T, BFG A/T, or Pro Comp All Terrain?
30" on a DD, a LOT of highway miles, dry/wet/snow, and occasional offroad use.
Opinions?

I just lifted my rear with another aal it's sitting almost an inch above the front which is 2 inches. So now the rear has almost three inches of lift, I felt some vibrations at 55mph two times today, sounded like they were coming from the tc. Do I need a tc drop? I'm going back to school Sunday, which is a 700 mile drive, if I need a tc drop can it wait til after I make that drive?

My oppinion you could probably wait. But if you notice its geting worse id definitly do it now. It lessensthe chance of taking out the u joints on both front and rear as well as if you have a double cardan cv front drive shaft get rid of it cuz it will tear the bearings out of it hope I helped if I'm wrong let me know cuz I don't like being wrong

Amcjeep, thanks I will have to see if it gets worse, do you think having a big load in the back will stop it since it will be sagging a little? I just don't want to ruin anything on the trip, but also short on cash.

So what y'all think if I put a 3in U bolt and block kit in the back and some 2in spacers in the front. That should be able to fit 31s right?
